Albert E. Dotson, Jr. Selected as Member of The Collins Center for Public Policy's Board Of Trustees
Land Use & Government Relations Practice Group Leader, Albert E. Dotson, Jr., will join eight others from around the State of Florida as newly-appointed members of The Collins Center for Public Policy's Board of Trustees. As part of the 21-member Board of Trustees, Mr. Dotson will help further the non-profit's goals of advancing understanding of Florida's public policy issues, and creating innovative, non-partisan solutions to these issues.
Mr. Dotson regularly represents clients in matters involving federal and local government procurement contracts and compliance, and has been called upon numerous times to negotiate economic development incentive programs with local governments and redevelopment agencies on behalf of major U.S. corporate clients.
Beyond his legal practice, Mr. Dotson is integrally involved in civic and charitable organizations throughout Florida. In 2009, he was appointed to serve on the Judicial Nominating Commission of Florida, a position to which he was reappointed earlier this year by Senators Bill Nelson and Marco Rubio. Mr. Dotson is the National Chairman of 100 Black Men of America. In addition, he serves a Trustee of the United Way of Miami-Dade County, a Board Member of Alonzo Mourning Charities, and has served as president of the Orange Bowl Committee, Chairman of the Miami-Dade College Foundation Board of Trustees and as Chairman of the Overtown Youth Center Board of Directors.
The Collins Center for Public Policy was founded in 1988, named in honor of former Florida Governor LeRoy Collins. The Collins Center conducts public policy analysis and works to develop projects and programs that address public policy issues that impact Floridians, such voting rights, environmental concerns, mortgage foreclosure and community revitalization efforts.
