The eMerge Techweek Conference’s last day, like every day before it, was filled with interesting discussions led by the tech world’s movers and shakers.
On Monday, they held a session about crowdfunding, led by EarlyShares CEO Joanna Schwartz. Crowdfunding is an innovative way of raising equity and gathering investors without losing creative control. Done in an online, internet-based capacity, this process is also being used for an array of donation-based campaigns.
Another session, entitled “From Startup to Exit: Stories of Successful Entrepreneurs,” chronicled panelists’ startup successes and insight into what made them work. Some suggestions included forming a solid team and incentivizing them with equity and stake in the business.
“Edtech: Use of Innovation & Technology in Education Reform” included fascinating commentary on how technology has fundamentally impacted education and how we learn and interact as well as how we access information.
And last but certainly not least, the conference attendees heard from Mr. 305 himself, Pitbull, along with the founder of the conference, Manny Medina.
After this week’s events, we are confident that the tech industry presence in the Magic City is going to raise its profile to the next level.
