Bilzin Sumberg Attorneys Among DBR's 2015 'Most Effective Lawyers'
MIAMI, FL – Five attorneys from Bilzin Sumberg are recognized by the Daily Business Review as "2015 Most Effective Lawyers" in the Government Relations and Public Interest categories. One legal team gains notice in the Government Relations category, another team earns accolades for its work in the area of Public Interest.
Award Recipients: Government Relations Category: Bilzin Sumberg attorneys Albert E. Dotson, Jr., Jon Chassen, Wendy François and Eric Singer are recognized for their work on a $400 million modernization project for the Miami Dolphins football stadium. During negotiations in early 2014, the legal team representing the Miami Dolphins and Sun Life Stadium ownership won support from Miami-Dade County to implement improvements including a rooftop shade canopy, new fan seating and stadium concourse renovations. Dotson is Practice Group Leader of Bilzin Sumberg's Land Development & Government Relations Group Leader, Chassen is a Partner in the Firm's Real Estate Group and Francois is an Associate in the Land Development & Government Relations Group.
Finalists: Public Interest Category: Bilzin Sumberg Land Development & Government Relations attorneys Albert E. Dotson, Jr., A. Vicky Garcia-Toledo and Eric Singer are credited with enabling forthcoming upgrades and improvements to Miami-Dade County's Wastewater System. Their work in 2014 on behalf of the engineering company CH2M resulted in a successful contract negotiation with Miami-Dade County; as a result of their efforts, CH2M won one of the most valuable water industry contracts ever awarded to a company and the largest contract in Miami-Dade County Water and Sewer Department history – at a value exceeding $3 billion.
