Bilzin Sumberg Announces Seasoned Transactional Attorney Jose Sariego
Miami, FL – Bilzin Sumberg is pleased to announce that Jose Sariego has joined the Firm as a Partner in Bilzin Sumberg's Corporate Group. Jose joins the Firm after leading the Business & Legal Affairs departments of two major television networks, HBO Latin America and Telemundo, and brings to the team more than 25 years of extensive corporate legal experience in domestic and foreign media, entertainment and transactional law.

Jose has experience negotiating and closing multi-million dollar licensing, distribution and other deals in the United States and internationally. He has led complex negotiations with some of the largest media companies in Latin America, closed multi-year programming deals with major studios and independents, and handled development and production deals with producers on numerous shows throughout the region. Jose has negotiated and closed talent and other agreements involving internationally renowned stars and has also handled sports programming deals for World Cup soccer, NFL football, and other sports.
Jose also served as Senior Vice President and General Counsel for MasTec, a NYSE-listed international telecommunications contractor, and as a partner of a 400-lawyer international law firm. As a seasoned transactional attorney, he has negotiated, documented and closed dozens of multi-million dollar deals during his career.
Jose is an Adjunct Professor of Media Law at the University of Miami Law School and was an Adjunct Professor of Media Business Law at Miami International University. He is a frequent lecturer and author on entertainment law and international law.
Born in Cuba, Jose also speaks and transacts business in Spanish and Portuguese.
