Three Attorneys Win DBR's Top Dealmakers 2016 Award
Miami, FL - Bilzin Sumberg is pleased to announce that three of its attorneys were named by Daily Business Review (DBR) as "Top Dealmakers of the Year" in South Florida. The annual awards recognize those who handled the largest and most complex deals in 2015.
Real Estate Practice Group Leader Suzanne Amaducci and Real Estate Associates Phil Sosnow and Jared Spector won in the Hotel category for their representation of ITC Center Miami LLC. The deal included the acquisition and financing of the Holiday Inn Downtown Miami at 340 Biscayne Boulevard, which involved a complicated debt structure, a short term lease-back to the seller, and an extremely tight time frame to close.
The $65 million purchase of the Holiday Inn Downtown Miami involved securing approximately $50 million in financing within one month. Due to the deadline, the dealmakers were tasked with simultaneously negotiating three separate loans, one of which was split between mortgage and mezzanine financing, and handling the lease-back to the seller.
DBR editors selected winners in various categories based on complexity and size of the deals, how instrumental the nominees were in making them happen, and how the outcome benefited the dealmaker's client.
