Managing Partner John C. Sumberg Named a 2016 "Power Leader in Law & Accounting"

Sumberg was honored for the third consecutive year in South Florida Business Journal's "Power Leaders in Law & Accounting." The 2016 Power Leaders in Law & Accounting were selected for being top behind-the-scene players whose skills and trusted counsel have helped define South Florida in the past year.
As a commercial real estate and corporate attorney with more than 40 years of experience, and Bilzin Sumberg's managing partner, John maintains an active legal practice that encompasses complex commercial real property transactions and corporate legal matters. John also advises foreign and domestic real estate developers and investors in inbound investment matters, particularly from Latin America, that involve limited partnerships, joint ventures, acquisitions of distressed assets, and similar transactions.
John's community involvement focuses on areas in which he can make the most impact. He holds leadership positions in several charitable organizations including serving as a board member of United Way of Miami-Dade, Greater Miami Jewish Federation and Lotus House. John also supports Voices for Children, Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America, and Legal Services of Greater Miami, Inc. In addition, he serves as Advisory Board Vice Chair and Executive Committee member of the University of Miami School of Architecture Master in Real Estate Development + Urbanism Program, and in 2015 was appointed as the Program's Transportation and Infrastructure Committee Co-Chair.
John has received Chambers USA’s highest ranking in Real Estate since the publication’s inaugural year in Florida and has been recognized by The Best Lawyers in America and Florida Super Lawyers for over a decade. John has also been named a Top 100 Power Leader by the South Florida Business Journal in 2014 and 2015.
