Bilzin Sumberg Launches F&B Blog, The Food Court
Press Release
June 01, 2018
Bilzin Sumberg is pleased to announce the launch of The Food Court, a litigation blog delivering insight into legal challenges, regulatory developments, and business trends impacting the Food and Beverage industry.
The Food Court provides commentary and analysis on top of mind issues, including discussions regarding class action and antitrust litigation, product labeling, deceptive advertising, and consumer fraud issues, as well as franchise law, and the constantly evolving regulatory environment.
Bilzin Sumberg's Food & Beverage team is renowned for its industry prowess, having successfully represented global companies in national class action and antitrust cases, advised franchisors in connection with regulatory compliance and disputes, and provided counsel to clients facing investigation by the Department of Justice.
Litigation Partners Lori Lustrin, Melissa Pallett-Vasquez, and Scott Wagner serve as blog Editors. As seasoned litigators, they have significant experience representing food and beverage clients in complex litigation and are frequent industry thought leaders. A contributing author of the American Bar Association Antitrust Class Actions Handbook, Scott Wagner wrote the chapter on strategic considerations when evaluating whether or not to opt out of a class action. Additional contributors to the blog include Litigation Associates Vivian Bauza, Adrian Felix, and Jerry Goldsmith.
"We envision The Food Court as an indispensable resource for manufacturers, distributors, and other industry players seeking to remain up to speed on industry conditions," Litigation Partner Lori Lustrin said. "We are mindful of the unique business challenges food and beverage companies face, both in and outside of Florida, and recognize that the State of Florida, and particularly South Florida, has become a popular venue for food and beverage related litigation."
In addition to The Food Court, Bilzin Sumberg attorneys also regularly contribute to the Firm's other two blogs, New Miami and Mortgage Crisis & Financial Services Watch.
