Miami, FL – Bilzin Sumberg is proud to be among the recipients South Florida Business Journal's 2020 Healthiest Employer Awards in the medium company (100-499 employees) category, a recognition given to companies for their efforts to create a healthy workplace.
The award utilizes an online assessment to measure wellness programming in six key categories: (1) leadership commitment, (2) foundational components, (3) strategic planning, (4) communication and marketing, (5) programming and interventions, and (6) reporting and analysis.
"Bilzin Sumberg has been a wellness advocate for more than a decade, and wellness is embedded in our culture," said Jackie Gallego, Bilzin Sumberg's Chief Human Resources Officer. "As we faced social distancing, we have expanded our wellness program to offer virtual classes, including yoga, stretch, and strength classes for employees who are currently working remotely."
Prior to establishing social distancing protocols, the firm offered several fitness classes per week, a healthy market, free gym membership, bimonthly onsite massages, and a subsidy for a healthy meal delivery service, in addition to an annual onsite health fair with biometric screenings and health insurance discounts to employees who participate in the wellness program.
"Bilzin Sumberg believes that employee health is a key component to the overall strength of our company," said Albert E. Dotson, Jr., Bilzin Sumberg's Managing Partner. "Now more than ever, the well-being of the entire team is our priority."
The Healthiest Employers Awards is an annual accolade awarded by South Florida Business Journal, in conjunction with Healthy Employer LLC, to honor companies with policies and initiatives promoting the health and well-being of their employees. Companies must be based in the South Florida area, including Miami Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach Counties.
