"Bilzin has a superb roster who handled our work with care. They guide us through complicated transactions with relative ease."

- CHAMBERS USA source

Led by Terry Lovell, Head of Bilzin Sumberg’s Affordable Housing & Tax Credit Practice, our team has vast experience with the complex real estate financings that underpin many affordable and workforce housing developments. This includes counseling clients on transactions financed with low-income housing tax credits under Section 42 of the Internal Revenue Code, tax-exempt bonds, grants, and loans issued by federal, state, and local governmental authorities.

The complexity of rules and regulations surrounding such financial instruments requires skilled and experienced counsel with a high degree of familiarity with all of the governmental programs and agencies that are potential funding sources. Our team advises on all critical aspects, from applying for tax credits and negotiating supplemental financing from public and private sources to regulatory compliance and disclosure requirements.
