Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, U.S. Senator Barack Obama and talk show host Oprah Winfrey, are among those who have made the list over the years.

Mr. Dotson's appearance on the EBONY list is the latest in a series of awards in recognition for his professional and community work. The gala will take place in Little Rock, Arkansas, and is chaired by President Bill Clinton. The Little Rock Nine Foundation was founded in 1999 to advance the principles of excellence in education for young people of color.
