Mitchell E. Widom Receives 2009 Leadership In Fundraising Award
Bilzin Sumberg Baena Price & Axelrod proudly announces that Litigation Partner Mitchell E. Widom is the recipient of the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation Of America's (CCFA) 2009 Leadership in Fundraising Award, which was presented at the CCFA Annual Board Meeting and Awards Ceremony. The ceremony was held on September 21st at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse in Boca Raton, Florida. Mr. Widom's extensive involvement with the Florida chapter of the CCFA, an organization dedicated to finding the cure for diseases, and his successful fundraising efforts for the organization led to this honor.
Mr. Widom serves as the Vice President of the Board of Trustees for the Florida Chapter of the CCFA. More notably, however, is his work with the Keymorada Invitational Fly Spin Tournament, of which he is the co-founder and co-chair. All proceeds from the annual fishing tournament benefit the CCFA. This past year, the tournament raised $400,000, boosting its 5-year fundraising total to over $1.7 million.
In addition to his work with the CCFA and the Keymorada tournament, Mr. Widom regularly provides pro bono legal services for Lawyers for Children of America (LFCA) and Temple Beth Am, while maintaining a thriving litigation practice at Bilzin Sumberg. Mr. Widom concentrates his practice in civil matters with areas ranging from real property disputes to insurance coverage.
