Bilzin Sumberg Welcomes Two New Partners from Among its Ranks
Miami, FL – Bilzin Sumberg is pleased to announce that Ellina Berdichevsky and Thomas Mullin have been elected as the firm’s newest partners. Effective January 1, 2025, they will become partners across their respective practice groups, Tax & Private Wealth and Environmental.
“We couldn’t be prouder in welcoming our newest class of incoming partners,” says Albert E. Dotson, Jr., Managing Partner, “They have proven themselves to be valuable advisors to their clients in their own right, while collaborating synergistically with their colleagues across practices to deliver unmatched counsel.”
Ellina Berdichevsky combines her LL.M. in Taxation with a background as a Certified Public Accountant, to advise clients on international and domestic tax planning, trust and estate planning, pre-immigration planning, corporate reorganizations, and inbound and outbound transactions. Ellina's representational experience spans Fortune 500 companies, high-net-worth individuals, and small businesses, allowing her to offer tailored guidance on complex tax matters. Her practice also includes advising on income tax matters, tax compliance, offshore disclosure, and matters under the Foreign Investment in Real Property Tax Act (FIRPTA).
Thomas Mullin leverages two decades of experience advising owners and developers on complex environmental issues, including due diligence, groundwater and soil contamination, permitting for environmental resources, coastal construction, and matters involving threatened and endangered species. As a trained environmental engineer, Tom’s scientific acumen distinguishes him among environmental attorneys. His prior role as in-house counsel for one of the nation’s largest homebuilders provides him with a unique understanding of clients’ long-term business and legal needs. Tom also represents clients in environmental litigation before the Florida Division of Administrative Hearings, and advises on land use and zoning matters, securing critical entitlements before local government boards.
