Hal Webb Awarded STEP Founder’s Award for Outstanding Achievement

Webb, Head of the firm’s International Private Client Services, is the recipient of STEP’s 2023 Founder’s Award for Outstanding Achievement. STEP members who receive this award have made an exceptional and outstanding long-term contribution to the Society above and beyond that normally expected of a member.
An international professional association for practitioners specializing in inheritance and succession planning, The Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) is one of the most prestigious industry organizations for estate planning in the world. As the recipient of the Founder’s Award for Outstanding Achievement, Hal was honored for his contribution to the organization and the wider private client advisor community. His volunteerism included serving as Director of the Miami Branch of STEP from 2000-2017 and Chair from 2014-2015. Because of Hal’s myriad efforts and initiatives as a leader and volunteer in the Miami Branch, it has experienced tremendous membership growth over the past decade and has garnered a reputation across the U.S. and internationally as a convener of premier knowledge and talent in the wealth planning field.
The award reinforces Hal’s wide recognition as a highly seasoned tax and estate-planning attorney with extensive experience in advising high-net-worth private clients, family offices, and trust companies from across the world. His broad practice covers foreign trusts with U.S. beneficiaries, pre-immigration tax and estate planning, planning for large gifts and inheritances being received by U.S. persons from foreign persons or foreign estates, foreign investment in U.S. real estate and business interests, and tax compliance and reporting.
In addition to his membership in STEP and past leadership positions within the Miami Branch, Hal has also served as Chairman of the International Tax In-Bound Committee of The Florida Bar and is a member of the Tax Section of the American Bar Association.
