Stanley B. Price, Eileen Ball Mehta and Eric Singer Win Daily Business Review's 2012 Most Effective Lawyers

Press Release
February 27, 2013

Miami, FL – Bilzin Sumberg Baena Price & Axelrod LLP announced that three of its Government Relations & Land Development attorneys - Practice Group Chair and partner, Stanley B. Price, partner, Eileen Ball Mehta and associate, Eric Singer - were named Daily Business Review's 2012 Most Effective Lawyers in the Real Estate category.

Price, Mehta and Singer won the award for their successful representation of Palmer Trinity Private School, ending its six-year legal battle with the Village of Palmetto Bay over the school's right to expand its existing campus. Through circuit and appeal courts, the Bilzin Sumberg trio fought the Village's persistent attempts to deny Palmer Trinity's plans to expand onto an adjacent 32-acre parcel of land, and successfully secured zoning approvals for the school.

The Daily Business Review's Most Effective Lawyers awards recognize the work of more than 70 private and public sector South Florida attorneys in 13 categories. Winners are selected based on the critical benchmark of results for the client.

Stanley B. Price works extensively with government and regulatory agencies, developers and landowners to examine, interpret and establish land use policy. As principal draftsman of important land use legislation, Price is frequently consulted on the subjects of owners' and developers' rights and complex zoning and permitting issues.

Eileen Ball Mehta's areas of proficiency include land use, local government law and appeals. She has represented private and governmental clients and serves as counsel to the Clerk of the Court for the Eleventh Judicial Circuit and to Goodwill Industries of South Florida, Inc. Mehta has handled cases in state and federal courts at the trial and appellate levels and quasi-judicial matters before local, regional and state administrative tribunals.

Eric Singer focuses his practice on government procurement contracts and the development approval process, including planning and zoning applications, government approvals and permits. Singer also represents clients in quasi-judicial matters and has handled land use cases in state and federal courts at the trial and appellate levels.
